POLAR PLUNGE TIPS
JUMP IN FEET FIRST!
NO DIVING!
Do not consume alcohol prior to making the plunge. It will not warm you up but will accelerate hyperthermia.
To avoid hyperthermia do not stay in the water longer than 15 minutes. Body heat is lost 25 times faster in the water than in the air.
Anyone with a heart problem or other serious medical conditions should not plunge.
Remove wet clothing before getting back into dry clothes.
Bring towels to dry off.
